Turning Thirteen

John's sister Meghann is turning 13 tomorrow.  I remember turning thirteen, when your hair suddenly takes a turn for the worst (no more natural highlights, sudden and unnatural curl you're not used to, coarseness, etc.), your body is and has been doing strange new things for the past two years, and your friendships change styles more than Madonna.  You want to stay in the shower for two hours just to scrub off the sweat (which is sort of a new thing, too), and suddenly you find yourself angry for no reason, sad for no reason, and for some reason, angry with your mother at whatever she says and angry with her when she doesn't say anything at all.  It's a horrible place to be, thirteen!
