Fun with Grammy :)

Here's some interesting pictures I found on our camera after Maryn and I were at church....

Fun with Anna

Grammy and Auntie Anna Visit!

Pretty girl
Grammy and Aunt Anna (John's Mom and Sister) came to visit this weekend!  It was kind of a last minute visit. They drove all the way from Minnesota so that they could visit us and also so Anna could visit U of L!  She has been accepted there, so let's hope that maybe she'll be here next fall.  Wouldn't that be aweeeesome!!!!!
Stories with Grammy

Just hanging out with Auntie Anna and Grammy!

Maryn made this penguin for Grammy :)
The kids had so much fun hanging out with them and wearing them out :)  I sure hope this means we will see lots more of them in the next few years.

An Evening with the Erdmans

We like being silly with Daddy on the couch after dinner.
And then we sometimes have some drawing time.  Mommy draws animals.
Maryn makes birthday cakes, flowers, or rainbows...
Josiah colors and makes beautiful circles.
 Daddy draws weird geometric shapes.

I love evenings with my family.  :)

Happy 2nd Birthday Josiah

Josiah is the child in our family who is rarely the center of attention.

But he's also the one who captures everyone's hearts.
He is our junk food junkie, but he recently did start eating vegetables.
He loves balloons, balls, swords, sticks, rocks, trains, planes, fast cars, music (especially drums, guitars, and country music) and most of all, DIRT.
And he loves his Mama, and any women in the family.  And also Juju, our sweet neighbor girl.  :)
He was so blessed to be able to spend his birthday party with Aunt Anna and Grammy here!

His face just lit up with joy and pride when we started singing to HIM!

Here's your crazy family, buddy.  Sorry :)
 You little cutie!

He is an optimist.  He broke his Lightning McQueen balloon after only 20 minutes.  But he didn't shed a tear.  He just scooped it up and started playing with it, without it even having any air.  It made a great coat.  It also was fun to kick around.
 We love you, sweet Josiah.
Happy 2nd Birthday to my baby boy!

Josiah and the Elephants

Today was the biggest day of little Josiah's life.
He got to see elephants for the first time (that he can remember)!
 Elephants are his favorite animal.
Here was his initial expression upon seeing the elephants:

Then they started an elephant show, and the elephants got really close.  They held each other's tails and walked around the circle.  They showed how they can lay down, stand up, and almost climbed a tree!
Here he is, really trying to figure them out:
He clapped when they did their tricks:
Maryn had a great time, too!
This is what Owen did the entire time we were at the zoo (yay!):

I could not figure out why the kids were not cooperating for this picture, and then Maryn said, "It's hot!"  And duh, the iron clad elephant sure was blazing hot.  I almost unknowingly burnt my kids legs off because I wanted a picture of them on an elephant.
The kids are having a great time with Grandpa, who is with us for the weekend!

It was so hot, we had to keep spraying the kids with a spray bottle.  Here's Josiah getting sprayed!  He's such a cutie pie.  He has been incredibly, incredibly whiny the last two days.  We are having a lot of communication, discipline and other two year old issues.  He turns two in less than a month.  I honestly don't know if I'll make it through the next year... :)
